Procession of the Species

Procession was this weekend and was as interesting as ever. There were many cool floats and costumes. My favorite were the Pink Flamingos. They were at the tail end of the parade and danced to drums. Every once in awhile they would shout out "Pink flamingos!" Elliott slept through most of it, poor baby.

Saturday Was Sweet!

After last Saturday's ballgame, the boys played on the playground for a bit and then we went home and spent some time outdoors enjoying the weather. We don't always get 60 degrees and sunny in April!

Oliver, AKA monkey boy.

Elliott was totally into the change of scenery.

The Os had a great time washing our cars. They actually did a very good job!

Owen entertained Elliott with the bubble blower.

Play Ball!

Baseball season is in full swing! The McKenny Hawks have had their first two games and all I can say is that we need more practice! LOL The boys are all very cute though and are having a good time.

That's Owen on the far left and Oliver making the goofy face 3rd from the left.

Color Change

Spring is here and I felt a change in color was needed for my blog. The old colors were too wintry, although the photos seem to show better with the darker background. Hmmm.

Elliott is 8 months old!

This year is just flying by. The little guy will be a year old in no time. He started cruising yesterday so I guess he'll start walking next month or so. He's too little! It looks weird when kids that little can walk.

Here he is at months 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Ay Caramba!

I always wondered if there would be consequences to eating Mexican food so often. Dios mio... now I know.

Oliver's Artwork

Oliver's kindergarten class writes and draws in journals several times each week. His teacher provides the topic. When the journals come home, the material is often without context and may seem odd to me unless he remembers what it's about and can explain it to me. The journal he brought home today has the best example to date. Plus, the artwork itself caused me to laugh-snort.

I've looked at this picture several times now and every time I crack up at the cobra.

I Have a Gremlin

I have a gremlin at my house. He looks like this:

My gremlin likes to hide things and play tricks on unsuspecting people. Here are a few pictures of things my gremlin has done. Of course, my gremlin denies having any part in these mysterious events.

This is the Gremlin Way.

Elliott's pacifier up in the blinds.

My bathroom fixture.

Peter Pan stickers on Oliver's pillow.

Another pacifier hidden in the pocket of a bucket hat.

These are just a few of the gremliny things my gremlin has done JUST THIS WEEK!!!

Science Experiments and Superkids

Oliver recently read Horrible Harry and the Locked Closet. In the story, Harry's class learns about volcanoes and there is a recipe to make a volcano in the back of the book. The Os were dying to do it so Brian took them out in the back yard and helped them through it. We kept things simple and didn't build the actual volcano around the bottle. The boys took turns adding ingredients and Brian performed the final step. We were VERY GLAD Brian chose to do the experiment outdoors.

The other day I happened to be going through a tote full of the Os old things and stumbled upon one of my favorite keepsakes -- baby-sized Superman jammies. They were originally Oliver's that he wore at around 15 months (peanut!) and then handed down to Owen and now Elliott. So here are my three sons in their various Superjammies.

I posted a new YouTube video today of Elliott laughing. He's so darned cute! (If I may say so myself.) ;-)

My First Attempts to Photograph the Three

We started off okay.

But then the silly bug bit them.

They're obviously having way too much fun.

The color set are from a different day. Owen had a hard time finding his smile so I told them to just look natural and do their own thing.

I know most people would look at the photo above and think, "Oh, what a shame Owen didn't have a nice smile too." But I absolutely love this photo the way it is. It is just.... so real.
