Turkey Tournament 2009

We journeyed to the little town of Orting, WA today for the annual Turkey Tournament -- a wrestling tournament for first- and second-year wrestlers. I left the house with the Os at 6:30 am and we got back home at 4:45 pm. Long day. It was also a great day! Both boys won 1st place in their brackets and received "gold" medals. Owen even got a pin today! He was extremely proud of himself as you can see in the photos below.

Wrestling!

Owen and Oliver are wrestling with the Olympia Wrestling Club this season. It's their first time to wrestle for real and they are totally LOVING IT! Brian and I are thoroughly enjoying watching them. It's hard work and very intense. It's also loud and fun! Here are some highlights from their first two wrestling meets.

October 2009

What a great October! The weather was awesome and the fall leaves were gorgeous. This month was extra-fun for me because I got to go on a girls' weekend with 6 friends to Las Vegas. I'd like to thank my sponsors -- Brian and my Mom -- without whom I would not have been able to go.

Besides going to Vegas there were the fun trips to the pumpkin patch and the corn maze. Halloween was awesome this year. We had our friends the Gills over for dinner, trick-or-treating and a silly new game called Quelf.

Oliver and Owen started wrestling at the end of October and it is quite entertaining. Videos and photos will follow in a subsequent post.
